Friday 8th May 2015. Biggleswade KO Cup Final. Renhold United 1 Shefford Town & Campton. 1 ( Renhold won 4-3 on penalties )
Before a Forde Park, Langford FC crowd of 115, Renhold United engraved their name on the Biggleswade KO Cup for the very first time following a penalty shoot-out win over Shefford Town & Campton. It was the Town via Andrew Hayday who took the lead in the 54th minute before James Cooper from the penalty spot made things all square just 12 minutes from time to take the game into a penalty shoot-out in which United emerged the 4-3 winners. James Cooper, Dean Warren, Mark Reed and Jason Allison converting from the spot against Town goals from Michael Jones, Chris Slough and Ryan Lewis. Saturday 9th May 2015. Premier Division supported by Sportsform Silver medallists Flitwick Town were to end their season by taking their unbeaten ways up to seven games and their winning ways up to five games with a 2-0 home victory over Pavenham thanks to goals from Daniel Stafford and Nick Atkins. Whilst Wilstead returned to winning ways for the first time in five outings with a 4-1 home win over Wootton Blue Cross. Sam Smith, Colin Marshall, Matt Davidson and Paul Jones all on the scoresheet against a lone reply via Martin Powell. Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford Following a run of four consecutive defeats fifth place Great Barford returned to winning ways with a 3-2 home win over Shefford Town & Campton Reserves who were being beaten for the first time in eight outings. Reuben Hukin shooting them ahead in the 15th minute before Town's Stuart Pearce levelled matters ten minutes from the break only to see a Patrick Mulvihill header restore the home sides advantage just 60 seconds from the half-time whistle. That's the way it looked likely to stay until Adam Chambers with a peach of a strike in the 89th minute once again drew the Town level. However, Hukin was to have the final say with his second goal of the afternoon just 30 seconds later to take his side to victory. Elsewhere, Marabese Ceramics and AFC Harlington played out a 2-2 draw. Kevin Fehmi and Lewis Littlechild on the mark for the Tilermen against replies via Scott Gadsden and Matt Barnes. Division Two Westoning now find themselves in the land of the Mamas & Papas ( dream a little dream of me ) if they are to snatch the league crown away from Stevington. With Meltis Albion Reserves failing to raise a side to meet them at Greenfield Road their requirement from their last game of the season at home to Elstow Abbey Reserves next Wednesday is a victory by 38 goals or more. Elsewhere after nine straight defeats bottom of the table Wilstead Reserves ended their season with a 5-3 away win at Miggerhanger United. Robert Booth with a hat-trick supported by a brace from Lewis Millar to bring up the nap hand. Forthcoming Fixtures Wednesday 13th May 2015. Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford Great Barford v Potton Town 6.30pm @ Everton Playing Fields. Division Two Westoning v Elstow Abbey Reserves 6.30pm |
