The Big Kick Off is just around the corner.
The Bedfordshire County Football League will commence it's 2014-15 season this coming Wednesday 27th August with a series of seven games in the Premier Division supported by Sportsform Division before the full season kicks off three days later on Saturday 30th August.

Having finished the 2013-14 season with 66 teams the new season will kick off with some 62 teams making up just four divisions.

The departing teams from last season being Bedford Park Rangers, Brickhill Tigers, Bromham United, Clifton Reserves, Co-Op Sports, Kings AFC, Shillington and Woburn Lions who have all folded plus Potton United Reserves have returned to play United Counties League football and AFC Bush were removed from the league following an unsatisfactory probationary season in 2013-14.

The new teams appearing for season 2014-15 being Caldecote Reserves, Caldecote U20 ( replacing their A team ), FC Serbia, Lea Sports PSG, Moggerhanger United Reserves, Westoning U20 and White Eagles.

There are also slight name changes to three other clubs, 2013-14 Premier division supported by Sportsform league champions AFC Oakley Sports M&DH now plying their trade as AFC Oakley M&DH. Division One, Bedford Sports Athletic becoming Bedford SA ( no prizes for guessing what the SA stands for ) and Bedford United being the new name for last seasons Bedford Panthers in Division Two.

In those opening evening games all of the three promoted clubs face a trip on the road to start their new life in the top flight. Last seasons Division One champions AFC Turvey off to Weston Park to face Wootton Blue Cross for a 7.30pm kick off. Whilst last seasons runners-up Eastcotts AFC are en route to Lodge Road to be hosted by Sharnbrook who are fancied by many to be in for a much better season this campaign. Kick Off 6.15pm.

The trio of promoted travellers being made up by Sandy who make route to Hitchin Road to face Shefford Town & Campton in their opening game at their new complex. Kick Off 6.15pm.

The other game going ahead under floodlights comes at Hillgrounds where last seasons silver medallist AFC Kempton Town & Bedford College are visited by Flitwick Town. Kick Off 7.30pm.

The three remaining games having 6.15pm Kick Offs. At Harvey Close, Caldecote face near neighbours Ickwell & Old Warden with both clubs looking to make a drastic improvement on their 2013-14 campaign, whilst at their Playing Field headquarters the local fever will be less than that at Harvey Close when Marston Shelton Rovers commence their season with a visit from Lidlington United Sports.

The final game coming at Jubilee Playing Fields where last seasons fourth place Wilstead take on Renhold United who finished just one place behind them last term.
