Great Barford Claim Jubilee Cup Before Crowd Of 180 |
Before a sun kissed crowd of 180, at Biggleswade United's Second Meadow Ground, Great Barford were to claim this seasons Jubilee Cup with a 3-0 win over Clifton, goalless at the break mainly due to Clifton goalkeeper Tom Young making three fine saves to deny man of the match Daniel Stafford, Barford were to ride their luck early in the second period when Clifton's Barry Hallybone flew a effort over the crossbar from just six yards out until Barford sealed the game with three goals inside a six minute spell, Ben Schofield lobbing the first over an embarrassed Young's head before Stafford nodded home goal number two then be on hand to slot home the rebound after Young had beat away an effort from Mark Rogers all within the next five minutes to ensure Great Barford would be the thirty-seventh club to have their name engraved on the famous trophy. |
