Army Boys Win Their Last Battle But King's Are Dethroned By Riseley Sports Reserves
Friday evening saw Bedford Salvation Army close the final chapter on their twenty year history ( from season 2008/09 they will become Bedford Sports Athletic ) when completing a league and cup double with a 2-1 Centenary Cup win over AFC Kempston Town Reserves before a crowd of 120 at Biggleswade United's Second Meadow Ground, but it was Town who lead the game at the break with a 35th minute strike from Tristan Peck until second half goals from James Dougan and James Allen inside a ten minute spell saw The Army boys home.to Victory.

Saturday afternoon the cup action switched to Harvey Close at Caldecote where before another 100plus crowd, Riseley Sports Reserves caused a shock by lifting The Watson Shield away from Division Three Champions Kings AFC, a Nathan Clements penalty in the opening half saw King's lead at the break until the men from Gold Street stormed back to win 2-1, Jayme Harris levelling the game six minutes in and then claiming the winner six minutes from time although the last touch could well have been gained by King's defender Mike Milner.
