Campton, Bedford SA and Bedford College Inch Ever Closer To Their League Title's |
Campton will travel to Ickwell at the weekend knowing that with their superior goal difference in effect just one point is required for them to lift their first ever Premier Division Title after a goal early in the second half from Gary Gibson took them to a 1-0 home win over Sandy, whilst their nearest rivals Oakley Sports needed to come from behind to gain a 2-1 home win over Caldecote, Dean Bawden and Jason Angol netting the vital goals after David Coleman had headed Caldecote into the lead. Elsewhere Meltis Corinthians jumped into third spot after goals from Alex Woolston and Majid Nedeem took their current unbeaten run to seven games with a 2-0 away win at Riseley Sports, to lead Ickwell & Old Warden on goal difference some eight points behind Oakley Sports after The Greenmens home game with Westoning Recreation Club was called off after the visitors failed to raise a side to travel. The evening's other Premier game seeing Sharnbrook also take their current unbeaten run to seven games with a 2-0 home win over AFC Kempston Town, Shaun Barnett netting both of the goals. In Division One Supported By Sportsform, Bedford SA moved back onto the top of the table two points clear of Henlow who have played a game less when goals from Richard Ambler and Martin Taylor to a reply from Shaun Woodcraft took them to a 2-1 home victory over Flitwick Town, down at the other end of the table AFC Kempston Town Reserves now know they will finish in the bottom two after their 1-3 home defeat by Sandy Reserves, Shar Raman netting the Town goal against strikes from Sandy's Ian Jakes, Ian Hammitt plus a own goal. Meanwhile Royal Oak Kempston ensured themselves of another season of Division One football with a 1-0 win at Marston Social. In Division Three league leaders Bedford College emerged winners of their top of the table clash with Meltis Albion to move to within three points of the division title after goals from Sammy Guri, Kevin Rodgers, Yudi Ichichana and Dan Reed against a Scott Alleyne brace in reply took them to a 4-2 win. The evenings two other games seeing a hattrick from Craig Damon plus two goals from Craig Richards take Meppershall Jurassic to their first victory in four outings 5-4 at home over Saffron whilst goals from Tommy Allen and Jezz Wiseman to a Martin Hilland reply earned Clifton a 2-1 win at Woburn Reserves. |
