Army Boys March Closer Towards The Premier Division With 7-1 Home Win |
Monday Evening's games saw Bedford SA draw to within one point of league leaders Henlow at the head of The Division One Supported By Sportsform after a hattrick from James Allen plus goals from Garath Arzh, Darren Allen, Ashley Mead and Asa Mead took them to a 7-1 home win over Stevington those lone reply came from Darren King early in the second half by which stage his side were already trailing by five goals. Division Two action saw the wet weather prevent the Ickwell & Old Warden Reserves v Lidlington United Sports and Oakley Sports Reserves v Renhold Village games going ahead but in the two games that did prevail, Meltis Albion took themselves to within three points of league leaders Bedford College and still with a game in hand after a 4-2 home win over Great Barford, Michael Butler netting twice alongside single strikes from Michael Fry and Darren Ashpole. The evenings other game in this section seeing Marston Shelton Rovers extend their unbeaten ways to five games when netting a 2-0 home win over Saffron, their fifth consecutive defeat to leave them in the bottom four of the league table, Rovers goals coming via Aaron Franks and Mark Champkin. In Division Three, Lidlington United Sports Reserves game at home to Caldecote A failed to beat a pitch inspection but it was a good night for Kings AFC who climbed to the top of the table and now a point clear of Potton Wanderers after winning 3-0 at Sandy A thanks to two goals from Josh Clements and a strike from Marcus Tomlin, whilst third place Blue Chip were held to a 1-1 draw at Riseley Sports Reserves, Tom Ellison hitting the home goal to a reply from Mickey Walker. The nights only other game also finishing all square with Wilhamstead Reserves being held 2-2 at home by AFC Shillington, home goals from Paul Jackson and Phil Zeltobruhov being cancelled out by a brace from Adam Larsen. |
