Action tonight saw Cranfield United move to within one win of the Division One supported by Wests Citroen Bedford league title with a hard earned 2-1 victory at Queens Park Crescents. Phil Kempsell shooting them ahead in the 12th minute before 10 minutes into the second period Robin Hewitt doubled the scoreline only to see Shahinur Rahman reduce the arrears 20 minutes from time to set up a tense finish.

Division Two action saw Stevington increase their lead at the head of the league table up to five points in winning 7-1 at Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves, their ninth away win on the bounce. James Bourke and Aaron Hewitt both netting twice alongside single goals for Aaron Coker, Joe Holyoke and Ryan Diliheen. The lone Rovers reply coming via Peter Kerr.

Down at the other end of the table, bottom club Wilstead Reserves are still looking for their first home win of the season after being beaten 2-3 by Kempston Hammers Sports. Chris Greene, Jack Breteton and Minde Siburkis on the Hammers scoresheet against two in reply from David Benson. Whilst Kempston Athletic following four straight home defeats returned to winning ways with a 5-2 victory over second from bottom of the table Caldecote Reserves who were losing their twelfth away game on the bounce. Richie Andrews with a brace being supported by strikes from Dee Sayid, Mark Nicholson and Gavin Matthews to bring up the nap hand for the Athletic against replies via Adam Legate and Scott Lancaster.

Elsewhere following two straight home defeats Renhold United Reserves returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Wootton Village thanks to goals from Ian Asplin and Michael France.

In Division Three the lone action of the night saw Westoning U20 climb off the bottom of the league table at the expense of Mid Beds Tigers following their 1-0 home win over White Eagles. Rex Ludlow netting the all important goal.

Wednesday April 15th Round-Up. Part Two
Great Barford failed to become the second Bedfordshire County Football League club to lift a Bedfordshire FA Trophy this season when beaten 3-1 by South Midlands League side AFC Dunstable Reserves in the final of the Intermediate Cup at Second Meadow, Biggleswade United FC, David Mulvhill netting their lone goal.Whilst the Watson Shield Semi-final between Flitwick Town Reserves and Atletico Europa at the Hollow, Potton United FC was to go to the wire before Town emerged 3-1 penalty shoot-out winners to now await the winners of next weeks other Semi-final between Mid Beds Tigers and Cranfield United Reserves. 0-0 after 90 minutes, Sam Donadio shot Europa ahead in the first period of extra time before Townâs Matt Scott levelled matters in the second period to set up the penalty shoot-out.

Wednesday 15th April 2015. Round-up Part One.
Premier Division supported by Sportsform action saw the newly crowned league champions Renhold United take their unbeaten home ways up to six games with a 2-0 victory over Marston Shelton Rovers thanks to a brace of goals from Mark Reed. Whilst AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College were extending their unbeaten ways up to 11 games in sharing the spoils in a 1-1 home draw with Eastcotts AFC. Tyrone Kelly on the scoresheet for the Town against a reply from Andrew Sherrit.

Meantime, AFC Oakley M&DH climbed above Shefford Town & Campton into third spot in the league standings following their 2-0 home win over Pavenham. Ali Smith and Matt Barnes netting the goals to do the damage. Whilst down at the other end of the table Caldecote are now six points clear of basement club Ickwell & Old Warden following their 4-3 win at Wilstead. Matt Basta shooting them ahead in the opening half before Stuart Robson levelled matters up to take the teams in at the break with a 1-1 scoreline. Early second period action saw the home side with strikes from Paul Jones and Colin Marshall race into a 3-1 lead before the visitors with goals from Tom Cookman, Ricky Aris and Matt Basta again fight back to win 4-3 and end their run of four straight away defeats.

In Division Two. Kempston Athletic have now lost their last four home games after being beaten 2-1 by Bedford United. Andrew Perrett and Guiseppe Lamberti on the United acoresheet against a lone home reply from Richie Andrews.

In Division Three both of the evenings two games were to end in the same 1-1 scoreline. At Bedford Road, Rob Wilson netted for the hosts Sandy Reserves against Shefford Town & Campton A for whom Scott Fruisciate hit thereply and at Harvey Close, Caldecote A with a goal from Nicky Albone took their unbeaten home ways up to three games against Mid Beds Tigers for whom David Smith replied to end the Tigers run of seven consecutive away defeats.

This season Jubilee Cup final will be between Stevington and Westoning after Westoning run out 4-0 Semi-final winners over Clapham Sports. Tom Cooksley shooting them ahead in the 18th minute which was doubled 14 minutes later by Glen Cooksley to send them in 2-0 up at half time and it was game over when Glen Cooksley added a third goal in the 67th minute. The Sportsmen reduced to 10 men right on the 90th minute with a second yellow card for Leigh Umney and the scoring completed by Nick Shirley deep into time added on.
